Comtech PST awarded $1.8m contract for high-power solid-state amplifiers
Comtech Telecommunications Corp says that in fiscal first-quarter 2022 its subsidiary Comtech PST Corp of Melville, NY, USA, which is part of Comtech’s Government Solutions segment and supplies high-power RF microwave amplifiers, transmitters and control components for applications including defense, medical, satellite communications systems and instrumentation, was awarded by a major domestic prime contractor an additional contract worth $1.8m for RF microwave solid-state amplifiers.
The very high-power solid-state amplifiers, which utilize gallium nitride (GaN) transistor technology, were developed in close cooperation with the prime contractor and are part of a complex RF microwave transmission system used by the US military.
“This additional contract award is another example of Comtech’s technical strength in delivering high-power solid-state transmitter solutions for military applications and the ongoing demand for our high-power solid-state amplifier products,” says Comtech Telecommunications’ chairman & CEO Fred Kornberg.
