Veeco appoints Rockwell Automation CTO to board
Epitaxial deposition and process equipment maker Veeco Instruments Inc of Plainview, NY, USA has appointed Sujeet Chand Ph.D. to its board of directors. In addition to his industry experience and leadership qualities, Chand was identified through a search process in connection with the board’s desire for increased diversity.
Chand, age 63, has been senior VP & chief technology officer of Rockwell Automation since 2005. From 2001 to 2005, he served as Rockwell Automation’s VP, Control Systems. Prior to joining Rockwell Automation, Chand was chief operating officer for XAP Corp from 1999 to 2001 and, from 1988 to 1999, he led R&D at Rockwell Scientific Company, a subsidiary of Rockwell International.
Chand holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Osmania University in India and, from the University of Florida, a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
