Advantech to supply SSPAs to SatCom system integrator
Toronto-based Baylin Technologies Inc says that its subsidiary Advantech Wireless Technologies Inc of Montreal, Canada (which manufactures satellite, RF equipment and microwave broadband communications systems) has signed a multi-year agreement to supply a major satellite communication (SatCom) system integrator with its Summit II high-power solid-state power amplifier (SSPA) systems.
“We have received the initial purchase order of more than CAD$2m,” says Baylin’s president & CEO Randy Dewey. “Under the terms of the agreement, Advantech will supply its Summit II high-power SSPA systems to the integrator’s project,” he adds.
Configured for dual-band operation, the Summit II systems contain the latest gallium nitride (GaN) technology and operate over a high-speed CANbus monitor and control platform for maximum efficiency and reliability.
