Skyworks unveils high-power front-end modules for Wi-Fi 6 applications
Skyworks Solutions Inc of Woburn, MA, USA (which manufactures analog and mixed-signal semiconductors) has introduced the SKY85333-11 (2.4GHz) and SKY85747-11 (5GHz) front-end modules (FEMs) into its portfolio of solutions designed for high-power Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) applications and systems.
The highly integrated FEMs incorporate switching, a low-noise amplifier (LNA) with bypass and a power amplifier (PA) for devices such as networking and WLAN-enabled wireless video streaming systems.
Both devices feature a very low error vector magnitude (EVM) floor with a 1024 QAM signal which improves throughput and meets requirements for MU-MIMO operation.
The modules are said to offer extremely high linear output power – up to regulation limits for improving coverage range.
The SKY85333-11 and SKY85747-11 are available now in a compact LGA (24-pin, 3mm x 5mm) package and support leading reference designs.
