Riber receives order for MBE production system from China’s Acken Optoelectronics

Riber S.A. of Bezons, France – which manufactures molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) systems as well as evaporation sources and effusion cells – has received an order for an MBE 6000 production system for delivery in 2019 to Chinese firm Acken Optoelectronics, which specializes in developing dedicated laser systems for very-high-speed communications networks.

The MBE system will contribute to the development of new optoelectronic systems serving the Chinese and international markets for 5G, fiber-optic interconnections and data centers.

Riber says that this latest sale in China highlights how its technology offers an effective response to production requirements for the deployment and distribution of 5G on the Chinese market by 2020.
