Suss extends Taiwan partnership with PhotonWealth

Building on their cooperation in the sales of accessories for RF on-wafer measurements, probe system manufacturer Suss MicroTec of Munich, Germany and Taiwan-based company PhotonWealth are extending their partnership in Taiwan to include sales and application support for Suss' engineering and production probe systems.

Suss MicroTec (formerly Karl Suss) has been developing probe systems for over 30 years. It has had a presence in Taiwan since 2000, and is known in the Taiwanese market as a supplier of advanced packaging and MEMS equipment.
Now, it is focusing on growing its probe station business there.

Recent developments such as MicroAlign and ReAlign technology and the IZI Probe have atracted interest in the Taiwanese market. "We are confident that PhotonWealth will be the ideal partner to bring together Taiwan's
leading-edge semiconductor technology and world-class German precision engineering know-how," said Michael Harz, SUSS MicroTec's global sales manager for Test Systems.

. . . and starts remanufacturing business

The company also announced that it has started Suss MicroTec REMAN GmbH, a subsidiary dedicated to the refurbishment, sale and service of used Suss equipment that will ensure that the equipment offered to the market conforms to Suss' standards of quality, accuracy and uniformity. It will also be responsible for selling spare parts and the after-sale support of the systems sold.

"Our products are in high demand from those who, due to budget constraints, cannot purchase equipment first hand. Generally they have had to buy from dealers without warranty or any kind of service," says Dr Stefan
Schneidewind, CEO of Suss MicroTec. "With Suss REMAN these customers have the chance to purchase systems from a source that they can rely on to get the support they need."

Toni Wolejnik heads up the new REMAN team and brings with him over 14 years of experience in the used-equip- ment market, many of these closely tied to Suss.
