For first-half-2007, molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) reactor maker Riber Group of Bezons, France has reported sales down 67% on €7.3m a year ago (when three machines were sold) to just €2.4m (all components and accessories, with no machines shipped). According to the company, either for technical or for contractual reasons, the delivery of several machines slipped into the second-half of 2007, causing the decrease in sales figures.
Sales order backlog at the end of June was €11.2m (including 11 research machines), down 16% on €13.5m a year ago.
However, including the order of a production machine announced yesterday (to be delivered in second-half 2007), second-half sales are currently €12.2m. For full-year 2007, Riber forecasts total sales of €17-19m.
