Start-up company Huacan SemiTek Co Ltd (HC SemiTek) of Wuhan University Science Park, PR China has received and commissioned its first Thomas Swan Close Coupled Showerhead (CCS) MOCVD reactor from Aixtron, based in Aachen, Germany. Supplied in a 19x2-inch wafer configuration, the system will be used to manufacture GaN-based epiwafers for HB-LEDs.
Dr Chen Changqing, founder of HC SemiTek, said: "It is our strategic plan to quickly gain the ability to develop and manufacture GaN HB-LEDs. Having a state-of-the-art Thomas Swan CCS system is the key part of this plan.”
Earlier this month, the company purchased a GPT-20 bulk hydrogen purifier from the Johnson Matthey Gas Purification Technology (GPT) group of West Chester, PA, USA.See related item:
