Intense Ltd of Glasgow, Scotland, a provider of single and multimode monolithic laser array products and high power laser diodes, has announced that its chief technology officer Prof. John Marsh has been honoured for his advancement of engineering by being elected a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering.
"Our new Fellows demonstrate the importance of engineering in the modern world," says Academy president Lord Browne of Madingley. "They are the cream of the UK's engineering talent and many of them are actively involved in meeting some of the world's greatest challenges: energy provision, climate change, and sustainable use of materials. We salute their achievements and invite their help in moving engineering to the centre of society."
"I am thrilled to be named a Fellow by the Royal Academy of Engineering," said Marsh. "This is a prestigious group that is comprised of the UK’s most prominent engineers. The Academy’s work is vital to growing our technology economy and creating innovative solutions to some of our world’s most challenging problems."
