During January this year, Samsung Electro-Mechanics Co Ltd (SEMCO) ordered two AIX 2600G3HT MOCVD systems from Aixtron AG of Aachen, Germany. Both will be installed at SEMCO’s facilities in Kyungki-Do, South Korea, alongside the company’s existing Aixtron systems, and will be used for volume production of high brightness blue and white GaN-based LEDs.
"Samsung has become the number one local supplier for GaN based HB-LEDs in Korea. Only recently we have expanded our capacity with Aixtron Planetary Reactor systems. Now we decided to order two additional Aixtron MOCVD systems," said SEMCO’s Dr Dong-Joon Kim. "In our experience, the Aixtron Planetary Reactor offers excellent reproducibility which can be quickly and easily transferred to further Aixtron systems enabling us to ramp up output promptly after system installation."Visit: http://www.aixtron.com
