Two new GaAs switches from TriQuint

TriQuint Semiconductor introduced two gallium arsenide (GaAs) multi-port switches for applications such as electronic warfare signal receivers and general wideband communications systems.

TGS2302 is a single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) gallium arsenide switch that operates in the 4-20 GHz range. It was designed using TriQuint's VPIN (vertical PIN diode) production process, and provides a nominal 0.9 dB insertion loss, 12 dB return loss and 35 dB isolation. The new switch integrates DC blocking capacitors on all ports and includes decoupled DC bias pads to reduce the number of off-chip components, making it ideal for electronic warfare receivers, radar and general wideband communications systems.

TGS2313 offers performance similar to its SPDT counterpart, but in a single-pole, three-throw (SP3T) configuration. This gallium arsenide switch operates in the 4-18 GHz range and also produced using TriQuint's VPIN process. It provides a nominal 1 dB insertion loss, 12 dB return loss and 35 dB isolation. The new switch integrates DC blocking capacitors on all ports and decoupled DC bias pads to reduce the number of off-chip components needed for optimization. It is also aimed at markets using electronic warfare receivers, radar and general wideband wireless systems.
