Skyworks Solutions Inc of Woburn, MA, USA (which makes analog and mixed- signal semiconductors) has launched its latest mobile antenna solution, the SKY13699-21, which offers what is claimed to be exceptional insertion loss/isolation performance in a compact package, minimizing signal loss and footprint challenges for system designers.
Intelligent antenna management plays a critical role in high-performance smartphones, particularly with the onset of 5G and the addition of new features and performance requirements, says Skyworks. Selecting an antenna that delivers the best transmit power and receive sensitivity is integral to reducing the chances of dropped calls.
The SKY13699-21 enables main and diversity antenna swapping for 4G LTE and 5G mobile applications across a wide range of frequencies ─ spanning low, mid, high and ultra-high bands up to 6.0GHz and 5G New Radio (NR) bands n77 and n79.
The device also features rugged ESD performance, high linearity and robust harmonics over VSWR conditions, making it suitable for demanding, next-generation mobile architectures.
