Custom MMIC highlights space-qualified GaAs MMICs
Highlighting its space qualification capabilities for gallium arsenide (GaAs) MMICs, monolithic microwave integrated circuit developer Custom MMIC of Westford, MA, USA says that more than 70 of its commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) MMIC die products are able to be qualified to MIL-PRF-38534 Class K, or can be hermetic packaged and qualified per MIL-PRF-38535 Class S.
The space qualification elemental evaluation is performed either internally by Custom MMIC or through its trusted sub-contractors. Custom MMIC can also develop and qualify a custom solution, if desired.
Several of the firm’s products have already undergone the rigorous high-level visual inspection, burn-in, 1000-hour life test, 100% elemental electrical results, and wafer lot qualification. For example, the CMD162 Ka-Band LNA has heritage, having completed Class K qualification, and was launched in a major communications fast broadband satellite in 2015, says the firm.
