Custom MMIC launches distributed amplifier with positive gain slope up to 24GHz
Monolithic microwave integrated circuit developer Custom MMIC of Westford, MA, USA has added to its standard product line with two distributed amplifiers.
The CMD242 distributed amplifier features ultra-wideband performance from DC to 40GHz while delivering 10.5dB of gain with a flatness of +/-1dB. The noise figure is 4.4dB, with an output P1dB (output power at 1dB compression point) of 18dBm and OIP3 (output third-order intercept point) of 27dBm at 20GHz. With low current consumption of 100mA, the CMD242 is claimed to lead the market for the broad frequency and high dynamic range requirements.
The CMD244 distributed driver amplifier covers DC to 24GHz, with what is claimed to be a unique positive gain slope over the frequency range. This decreases the requirement for equalizer circuitry, saving size, weight and power (SWaP) in many communications and measurement designs. The gallium arsenide (GaAs) MMIC has a P1dB of 25dBm, OIP3 of 32dBm, 8dB of gain and a noise figure of 2.5dB at 10GHz.
