SPTS wins fourth consecutive Gold Award for occupational health & safety
SPTS Technologies Ltd of Newport, Wales, UK (an Orbotech company that manufactures etch, PVD and CVD wafer processing solutions for the MEMS, advanced packaging, LED, high-speed RF on GaAs, and power management device markets) has won a Gold Award in the Royal Society of Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Occupational Health and Safety Awards for the fourth consecutive year. The award will be presented during a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel on 14 July.
"It recognizes their commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record and raises the bar for other organisations to aspire to," says Julia Small, RoSPA's head of awards and events.
"We have a strong culture of continuous improvement throughout our organization, which has been instrumental in sustaining our business growth," says Kevin Crofton, president of SPTS Technologies and corporate VP at Orbotech. "It takes commitment and support of all the staff to maintain this high level of health and safety best practices in the work place."
RoSPA is a safety charity that recognizes companies that have demonstrated a commitment to occupational safety and health for their employees. Celebrating its diamond anniversary, the RoSPA Awards scheme is the largest and longest-running programme of its kind in the UK. It is open to businesses and organizations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas. Most of the awards are non-competitive and mark achievement at merit, bronze, silver and gold levels. Gold medals, president's awards and orders of distinction are presented to organizations sustaining the high standards of the gold level over consecutive years.
