Custom MMIC launches 26-35GHz wideband balanced driver amplifier

Monolithic microwave integrated circuit developer Custom MMIC of Westford, MA, USA has added to its expanding product range with the CMD243 26-35GHz low-noise driver amplifier.

The CMD243 is a wideband self-biasing gallium arsenide (GaAs) MMIC balanced driver amplifier that offers 15.5dB of gain with a P1dB (output power at 1dB compression point) of +21dBm. The amplifier operates from a single 5V supply and draws a current of just 90mA (typically). The balanced design provides good VSWR (voltage standing wave ratio) matching, along with improved stability and gain flatness.

The amplifier is a 50Ω matched design, eliminating the need for external DC blocks and RF port matching.
Applications include military, space and communications systems where small size and high linearity are necessary.
