Pasternack launches high-rel RF frequency dividers spanning 0.5-18GHz
Pasternack Inc of Irvine, CA, USA (which makes both passive and active RF, microwave and millimeter-wave products) has launched a line of high-rel frequency dividers that cover wide frequency bandwidths from 0.5 to 18GHz and are available in 2, 4, 5, 8, and 10 divide-by-prescaler configurations (available in-stock for immediate shipment).
The new modules are suitable for use in common phase-locked loop and frequency synthesizer circuit designs that may involve applications for aerospace & defense, satellite communications, VSAT, test & measurement equipment, and point-to-point radios.
The new frequency dividers utilize gallium arsenide (GaAs) heterojunction bipolar transistor (HBT) MMIC technology that produces low additive single sideband (SSB) phase noise performance with typical levels down to -155dBc/Hz at 100kHz offset. Input power ranges from -20dBm to +10dBm with output power ranging from -1dBm to -4dBm depending on the model. Additional performance includes a fast output transition time of 100ps, high reverse leakage levels up to 85dB, single +5V DC power supply, and an operating temperature range of -55°C to +85°C. All models are EAR99.
The frequency dividers are designed into compact miniature packages that support field-replaceable SMA connectors and mounting fixtures that can be removed for convenient PCB 'drop-in' applications. The rugged Kovar package designs are gold-over-nickel plated and hermetically sealed and guaranteed to meet MIL-STD-883 environmental test conditions for temperature cycle and fine & gross leak testing.
