Custom MMIC launches 2-9GHz wideband driver amplifiers with high gain and linearity
Monolithic microwave integrated circuit developer Custom MMIC of Westford, MA, USA has added two new packaged driver amplifiers to its expanding product range.
2-9GHz driver amplifier with 15dB of gain
The CMD232C3 gallium arsenide (GaAs) monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) driver amplifier operates at frequencies of 2-9GHz and delivers over 15dB of temperature stable gain with a P1dB (output 1dB compression point) of 17dBm, and an output IP3 (third-order intercept point) of 23dBm. With this device's high linearity in a compact 3mm x 3mm package, the amplifiers are applicable to military, space and communications systems. Easing the design process, the devices require only a single 5V positive supply voltage and a supply current of just 90mA. The new amplifier is a replacement for the Celeritek CMM-2 (now in packaged form).
2-6GHz driver amplifier with low current consumption
Offering wideband performance with a low current consumption, the CMD231C3 leverages GaAs MMIC technology to deliver more than 14.5dB of temperature stable gain with a supply current of only 45mA. The amplifiers require just a single 3-8V positive supply, simplifying the design process. P1dB is +13.5dBm, with an output IP3 of 23.5dBm. Offered in a 3mm x 3mm leadless surface-mount package, the CMD231C3 is a replacement for the Celeritek CMM-9 (now in packaged form). It is suited to military, space and communications systems where small die size and high linearity are required.
Both the CMD231C3 and CMD232C3 are 50Ω matched designs, eliminating the need for external DC blocks and RF port matching.
