Custom MMIC launches DC-26GHz SPDT MMIC switch with low insertion loss and high isolation

Monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) developer Custom MMIC of Westford, MA, USA has added to its rapidly growing standard product portfolio with the CMD230 single-pole double-throw (SPDT) switch.

Covering DC to 26GHz, the CMD230 is a general-purpose, broadband, high-isolation reflective MMIC SPDT switch in die form, featuring low insertion loss of 1.4 dB (the firm's lowest yet for an SPDT), input IP3 of 37dBm and high isolation of 40dB at 13GHz. The CMD230 operates using complementary control voltage logic lines of 0/-5V and requires no bias supply.

The CMD230 switch is pin-compatible with the now obsolete CSW0118 from Celeritek. Applications include microwave radio, test instrumentation, and military radar/EW (electronic warfare).
