Ascent Solar's EnerPlex products now available at Cabela's retail outlets and online
Ascent Solar Technologies Inc of Thornton, CO, USA, which makes lightweight, flexible copper indium gallium diselenide (CIGS) thin-film photovoltaic modules integrated into off-grid applications, says that its EnerPlex series of consumer products have been launched at specialty retailer Cabela's (the world's largest direct marketer of hunting, fishing, camping and related outdoor recreation merchandise, with 67 superstores throughout North America).
"EnerPlex's partnership with Cabela's is the first major step in our plans to support the fast-growing outdoor portable power market and will provide their customers with lightweight and powerful solutions," says said EnerPlex general manager Richard Hashim. "The EnerPlex product line is well suited for use in the outdoors, no matter what activity, and launching with Cabela's will allow EnerPlex to further reach those consumers who rather spend their recreation time outdoors," he adds.
"Outdoor recreation product sales represent more than $120bn in annual spending by American consumers and many of those products purchased require power, from GPSs, radios, lanterns, flashlights and many others," says Hashim. "The EnerPlex line of solar and battery-charging products offers solutions covering the entire range of electronics used in the outdoors, ensuring that consumers are never without power, even if they are off the grid," he adds.
