Ascent’s EnerPlex partners with WYNIT to expand North American distribution & retail presence
Ascent Solar Technologies Inc of Thornton, CO, USA, which makes lightweight, flexible copper indium gallium diselenide (CIGS) thin-film photovoltaic modules that it integrates into its EnerPlex series of consumer products, has announced a new partnership with WYNIT Distribution LLC of North Syracuse, NY, USA.
Founded in 1987, WYNIT supports the outdoor retail and consumer electronics re-seller channels, delivering products from over 100 brands to thousands of resellers across the USA. In the US outdoor market alone, sales of gear and accessories surpass $120bn annually, and portable power solutions (including solar) are becoming increasingly vital for outdoor leisure (biking, camping, fishing, hiking etc).
“This partnership with WYNIT will unquestionably help the continued growth of the EnerPlex brand into the outdoor market and into national resellers such as Cabela’s, Sportsman’s Warehouse, Dick’s Sporting Goods and more,” reckons EnerPlex general manager Richard Hashim. “EnerPlex products will be available to more consumers, in more places throughout the country.”
“The flexible, lightweight and rugged solar technology from EnerPlex is an extremely compelling solution for outdoor and consumer mobile power products,” believes WYNIT product manager Chris Bloome. “No other brand offers consumers the ability to integrate portable power solutions so seamlessly into their everyday lives,” he adds.
“WYNIT offers a tremendous reach into the broad retail and consumer products reseller channel in North America, especially in the outdoor market,” comments Hashim. “Entry into the outdoor market is an important goal for EnerPlex; as our innovative, lightweight solar and portable power products provide outdoor consumers the ability to bring power with them even when away from the outlet,” he adds. “In the past, the only other solutions available to end-users were bulky batteries or heavy silicon-based solar panels.”
