Custom MMIC launches 20dB-gain 20GHz distributed power amplifier
Custom MMIC of Westford, MA, USA, a developer of performance-driven monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs), has announced the product release of the CMD201, a new DC-20GHz distributed MMIC power amplifier in die form.
The CMD201 delivers more than 20dB of gain from DC to 20GHz, with a corresponding P1dB (output power at 1dB compression) of +29dBm and an output IP3 (third-order intercept point) of +38dBm at 10GHz.
The new distributed power amplifier offers ultra-wideband performance, high linearity, high output power, what are claimed to be excellent return losses, and a small die size. An off-chip bias network is required for operation.
Suitable applications for the CMD201 are microwave radio and VSAT, telecom infrastructure, test instrumentation, military and space, and fiber optics.
