Oclaro closes sale of Amplifier and Micro-Optics business to II-VI Inc
Oclaro Inc of San Jose, CA, USA (which provides lasers and optical components, modules and subsystems for optical communications) has closed the sale of its Amplifier and Micro-Optics to engineering materials and optoelectronic components provider II-VI Inc of Saxonburg, PA, USA (announced on 10 October) for $88.6m.
II-VI paid Oclaro $79.6m in cash at closing. II-VI had previously (on 12 September) paid Oclaro $5m for a 30-day option to buy the business, which was credited against the $88.6m purchase price. The remaining $4m will be held by II-VI until end-December 2014 to address any post-closing claims.
