Soraa appoints online distributor
Soraa Inc of Fremont, CA, USA, which develops solid-state lighting technology built on ‘GaN on GaN’ (gallium nitride on gallium nitride) substrates, has appointed 1000Bulbs.com as an online distributor of its new MR16 lamps.
Founded by professors Shuji Nukamara, Jim Speck and Steven DenBaars, Soraa says that its patented GaN-on-GaN technology produces a cleaner and brighter light while also cutting power consumption by 80% compared to a standard halogen lamp. A Soraa lamp puts out more light with one LED chip than competing lamps do with four chips.
“The quality of light that is emitted from Soraa’s lamps is breathtaking; the crispness it brings to anything it touches is something you have to experience,” says 1000Bulbs.com CEO Kim Pedersen. “We are ecstatic to be Soraa’s premiere online distributor for these extremely high-quality MR16s.”
The Soraa MR16 is the highest performance LED MR16 halogen replacement lamp on the market. The Sun has a CRI of 100, while Soraa’s LED has a CRI of 95 in their vivid series offerings. Soraa has also developed a heat adjustment technology that ensures the lamp will not overheat in any environment.
With LEDs built from pure GaN substrates, the lamp consists of a single light source, producing crisp, clean lines with minimal light scatter. The lamps are ideal for use with track lighting systems in museums, art galleries, and retail stores.
Available in 2700K and 3000K color temperatures, the lamps have a life span of up to 30,000 hours and come with a 3-year warranty.
