Anadigics’ PAs power Samsung Galaxy Note II

Broadband wireless and wireline communications component maker Anadigics Inc of Warren, NJ, USA is shipping production volumes of its ALT6702, ALT6725, AWC6323, AWC6325, and AWT6624 LTE, CDMA, and WCDMA power amplifiers (PAs) to Samsung Electronics for the new Galaxy Note II.

Verizon Wireless’ model of the Samsung Galaxy Note II uses Anadigics’ AWC6323 PA, while the Sprint model is powered by the ALT6702 and AWC6323 PAs. Additional models for several wireless carriers in the United States and Asia use one or a combination of Anadigics single-band and dual-band PAs.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note II blends the functionality and form factors of both smartphones and tablets, and is commonly referred to as a ‘phablet’. It features a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED screen, updated S Pen stylus, 8 megapixel camera, and 1.6GHz quad-core processor. The Galaxy Note II ships with an expanded suite of software, including the new Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system.

The ALT6702 and AWT6624 single-band, and ALT6725, AWC6323 and AWC6325 dual-band power amplifiers leverage the firm’s patented design architectures and InGaP-Plus technology to deliver efficiency across all power levels.
