RFMD adds four high-linearity, low-noise I/Q converters for 17-27GHz applications
RF Micro Devices Inc of Greensboro, NC, USA has launched four monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) upconverter and downconverter devices, offering high performance and low cost for high-frequency applications, it is claimed.
The RFUV1702 (17.7-19.7GHz) and RFUV1703 (21-26.5GHz) upconverters incorporate an integrated frequency multiplier (x2), LO buffer amplifier, a balanced single-sideband (image rejection) mixer followed by variable gain amplifier (VGA), and DC-decoupling capacitors.
The RFRX1701 (17.7-26.5GHz) and RFRX1702 (17.75-19.7GHz) downconverters incorporate an image rejection mixer, LO buffer amplifier, and integrated low-noise amplifier (LNA). Each device is packaged in a 5mm x 5mm QFN to simplify both system-level board design and volume assembly.
The combination of high performance and low-cost packaging makes each device cost effective and suitable for point-to-point radio and satellite communications, says the firm.
The products are now available in production quantities. Pricing begins at $24.44 each for 1000 pieces.
