3SPGroup launches 14xx Raman pump and 100km EML TOSA
At the Optical Fiber Communication Conference & Exposition and National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference (OFC/NFOEC 2012) in Los Angeles this week (6-8 March), 3SPGroup is introducing a new high-efficiency 14xx-wavelength Raman pump laser module as well as a 10Gb/s electro-absorption modulator laser (EML) TOSA (transmission optical sub-assembly) with a transmission range of up to 100km.
Also, during the OFC conference, TOSA module performance research results are being presented in two technical presentations, both on 8 Thursday:
- ‘Extended Temperature (-40/+90°C) Ultra Low Power Consumption with High Average Output Power (>+3 dBm) 1.55µm TOSA Module for up to 11.3Gb/s 100km Dispersion Compensation Free Transmission Metro Applications’; and
- ‘End-to-End Integrated Multiservice Packet Network’ (European ICT ALPHA project).
3SPGroup designs and manufactures both active optoelectronic components (incorporating gallium arsenide and indium phosphide laser chips fabricated in-house at Nozay, France) and passive fiber-based optical components (made at what was formerly Avensys Inc of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, acquired in early 2010) for telecom, industrial, security & defence, medical and R&D applications.
At the OFC/NFOEC exhibition, 3SPGroup is therefore also showcasing various products, including ultra-high-power 980nm pumps, couplers, high-power fiber lasers and amplifiers.
