Anadigics receives China ACE ‘RF/Wireless Product of the Year’ award for ALT6738 HELP4 PA
During a reception held in conjunction with the 17th International IC-China Conference & Exhibition (IIC-China 2012) in Shenzhen (23-25 February), RF and mixed-signal semiconductor maker Anadigics Inc of Warren, NJ, USA received the 2012 China Annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) ‘RF/Wireless Product of the Year’ award for its ALT6738 fourth-generation High-Efficiency-at-Low-Power (HELP4) power amplifier (PA).
The China ACE RF/Wireless Product of the Year Award recognizes solutions that offer significant design and technical benefits, provide engineers new and compelling capabilities, and deliver significant resource savings, including time, cost and space. The award also recognizes products that are likely to have a significant impact in mainland China.
“Anadigics is honored to be recognized by both the editors and readers of Global Sources China” says Jerry Miller, VP of business development and marketing. The RF efficiency performance of HELP4 power amplifiers helps designers and manufacturers to deliver mobile devices with greater battery life without the additional system cost of a DC-DC converter, he claims.
The ALT6738 HELP4 power amplifiers use Anadigics ‘exclusive InGaP-Plus technology to achieve optimal power-added efficiency (PAE) across low-range and mid-range output power levels (via three mode states) with low quiescent current of less than 4mA, extending battery life in handsets, smart-phones, tablets, netbooks, and notebooks. Anadigics also claims best-in-class linearity at maximum output power.
HELP4 PAs allow a high level of integration in a 3mm by 3mm footprint (with internal voltage regulation and an integrated ‘daisy chainable’ directional RF coupler with 20dB directivity) and enable an average reduction in current consumption of 30% compared with previous-generation PAs.
