NeoPhotonics reduces Q3 sales forecast from $48-53m to $43-45m
NeoPhotonics Corp of San Jose, CA, a vertically integrated designer and manufacturer of photonic integrated circuit (PIC)-based modules and subsystems for bandwidth-intensive, high-speed communications networks, says that its preliminary estimate for third-quarter 2011 revenue of $43-45m will be below its previous projection (given on 4 August) of $48-53m. The reduction is attributed to lower-than-expected revenue from the firm’s largest customer. This is down from revenue of $52.1m in Q2/2011.
NeoPhotonics plans to report financial results for third-quarter 2011 during the week of 31 October, when it will provide further commentary as well as the potential impact on fourth-quarter results.
