Green Earth to distribute Ascent's CIGS PV modules in Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg and Germany

Ascent Solar Technologies Inc of Thornton, CO, USA says that Green Earth Energy and Technology of Kortrijk, Belgium will begin distribution of its lightweight, flexible, thin-film copper indium gallium diselenide (CIGS) modules for building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPVs) and portable power solutions in Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg and Germany.

Green Earth Energy and Technology is a distributor of renewable energy technologies, solar modules and complete PV systems, with a focus on construction and management of industrial solar parks and large-scale solar arrays.

Ascent says that the agreement gives it access to multiple segments in Europe’s solar market including direct integration into building materials for residential and commercial solutions.

“This relationship will give us access to new and emerging market opportunities in building-applied photovoltaics that could provide significant opportunity in Europe over the coming years,” says president & CEO Farhad Moghadam. “We also expect that other products in our lineup of flexible, lightweight CIGS modules will be marketed through this relationship.”

Green Earth Energy and Technology is participating at this week’s Intersolution Solar Energy Expo 2011 in Ghent, Belgium (27–29 January).
