CPV Consortium holding ‘boot camp’ workshops on power plant development
The CPV Consortium, a global non-profit industry organization founded in 2007 in Sunnyvale, CA, USA, is holding two full-day ‘CPV Boot Camp’ workshops designed to provide the necessary tools for solar project developers, utilities and financiers to evaluate concentrator photovoltaic (CPV) systems as a technology for medium- and large-scale projects deployed in solar-rich regions of the world:
- 11 October, at the Los Angeles Convention Center, in partnership with Solar Power International. To register: www.solarpowerinternational.com
- 10 November, the 1st EPIA International Conference on Concentrated Photovoltaics (CPV) in Munich, Germany, in partnership with the European Photovoltaic Industry Association (EPIA) following its 3rd EPIA International Thin Film Conference on 10 November. To register: www.epia.org/events
“CPV technology is being deployed globally today, but as a comparatively new technology there has been a lack of information and analytical tools available to help project developers and utilities make informed decisions on CPV technology in new projects,” says consortium chair Nancy Hartsoch. “The goal of our ‘Boot Camp’ workshop is simple - to enable a more thorough evaluation of CPV technology as a broadly applicable option for solar plants… in a factual approach without commercial messages,” she adds.
The workshops are designed for developers, utilities, and energy directors for public and private organizations, especially those seeking to optimize energy production, deploy projects rapidly and meet requirements for sustainable energy sources. Both seminars will feature presentations and discussion from industry experts along with virtual tours of CPV plants currently generating electricity.
