Japanese LED maker Nichia Corp says that on 8 September it filed a patent infringement lawsuit in Germany at the District Court Düsseldorf against Taiwanese LED maker Harvatek Corp. The service of complaint against Harvatek was filed on 9 November.
In the lawsuit, Nichia is seeking an injunction, damages and recall against two different white LED products (serial numbers HT-V116TW and HT-U158TW) manufactured by Harvatek, which Nichia believes infringe its patent (EP936682[DE69702929]).
Nichia says that it seeks to protect its patents and other intellectual property rights and takes actions against alleged infringers in any country where appropriate and necessary.
