Avago launches blue and green 5mm through-hole HB-LED lamps

Avago Technologies of San Jose, CA, USA has launched a series of 5mm green and blue high-brightness through-hole LEDs for use in electronic sign and signal applications. 

As well as having a well defined spatial radiation pattern, the firm says that its HLMP-Cxxx through-hole round LED lamp series provides high-reliability performance and high luminous intensity in electronic signs to help improve the contrast ratio and readability in sunlight. The new LEDs also suit use in traffic signs, variable message signs, and monocolor signs.

Each HLMP-Cxxx series LED is made with an advanced optical grade epoxy that offers improved high temperature and high moisture resistance. The package epoxy also has high ultraviolet resistivity, which can reduce the effects of long-term exposure to direct sunlight.

The HLMP-Cxxx LEDs are priced at $0.40 each in 10,000 piece quantities.
