Riber sells reactor for Indian research on ultra-thin-film electronic structures

Riber S.A. of Bezons, France, which manufactures molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) systems as well as evaporation sources and effusion cells, has sold a Compact21 research reactor to a “leading research institute based in India”, enabling the laboratory to ramp up its research capacities for the growth of new ultra-thin-film electronic structures.

The system was selected for its flexibility and adaptability, allowing it to be tailored for research on the most complex structures. Riber’s portfolio of components also contributed to the institute's decision to acquire all of the firm’s technology.

Riber says that, in addition to confirming the commercial success of the Compact 21 range (the world’s best-selling MBE research system), the order confirms the strong development of Riber’s sales in India, where the semiconductor industry is growing rapidly.

Previously, in February, Riber announced the sale of a Compact21 gallium nitride (GaN) research system to “a major research institute in India” for research on blue and green nitride LEDs and the development of new MBE-based industrial applications.
