MiaSolé of Santa Clara, CA, USA, which manufactures copper indium gallium diselenide (CIGS) thin-film photovoltaic modules, has recruited Kevin Eassa as VP for manufacturing & operations.
Eassa has more than 26 years of manufacturing experience in the disc-drive industry with Seagate Technology, and was responsible for the rapid global expansion of Seagate’s manufacturing and operations in five countries and on three continents.
“He brings the experience he has gained from leading Seagate’s global manufacturing operations,” says CEO Dr Joseph Laia of Eassa. “Kevin joins us at a critical time,” he adds. On 30 October, MiaSolé received certification of its 100W and 107W CIGS PV modules to UL 1703 and IEC 61646 and 61730 standards, and the firm is now ramping up its production lines. “He brings a wealth of experience in building organizations that can drive scale rapidly, and is a perfect fit for our environment of low-cost and high-volume manufacturing,” Laia concludes.
