Avago Technologies of San Jose, CA, USA has introduced the latest addition to its family of high performance gallium arsenide (GaAs) low noise amplifier (LNA) MMIC products for use in wireless mobile communications applications.
The new MGA-21108, which measures 2.5 by 2.5 by 0.55mm in an 8-pin STSLP package, is a fully integrated GaAs LNA for use in the 1.5 to 8 GHz band. Operating at supply voltages ranging from 1.4 to 3.3V, it is ideal for use in low power or battery-operated applications and targets designers of mobile applications such GPS, WiFi, WiMAX, and UWB, says the firm.
According to Avago, the fully matched LNA module will enable designers of wireless handsets and other hand-held communications devices to simplify their designs and help reduce their design time to market.
Broadband performance of Avago’s MGA-21108 is achieved with only one external input matching component, and the power supply chokes and coupling capacitors are integrated into the device. Additionally, the MGA-21108 includes a CMOS-compatible shutdown pin that can also be used as a variable gain bias pin.
Features:
Avago will be demonstrating a variety of its latest amplifiers at the 2009 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium, (June 8 - 11), in Boston, on booth #1215.
The MGA-21108 fully integrated matched LNA MMIC is available now with pricing starting from $0.99 in 10,000 unit volumes.
