High-purity metals and alloy producer 5N Plus Inc of Montreal, Canada has extended its supply agreements with cadmium telluride (CdTe) thin-film photovoltaic manufacturer First Solar Inc of Phoenix, AZ, USA by a further year (until 31 July 2013). 5N Plus supplies cadmium telluride and cadmium sulfide to First Solar from its facilities in Montreal and Germany.
The agreements have also been amended to increase by 50% the minimum prescribed quantities of CdTe to be ordered by First Solar for the remaining term of the agreements.
