Mimix Broadband Inc of Houston, TX, USA has launched the XP1073-BD GaAs MMIC high-power amplifier (HPA). Covering the frequencies 34-37GHz and achieving power-added efficiency (PAE) of 24%, with +37dBm pulsed saturated output power and 22dB large-signal gain, the device is suited to millimeter-wave military, radar, satellite and weather applications, says the firm.
"The XP1073-BD is a balanced high-power amplifier, and with saturated output power of nearly 6 Watts, it rises well above anything available in the marketplace," claims product manager Jeff Kovitz. By balancing two XP1072-BD devices (which also have 6W saturated output power, 22dB gain and 24% PAE, and were launched earlier this week) using a fairly unique Lange coupler network, the XP1073-BD provides a well matched HPA solution for many Ka-Band applications, he adds.
