Oclaro receives Excellent Core Partner Award from Huawei

Oclaro Inc, which makes optical components, modules and subsystems for communications, industrial and consumer applications, has received the Excellent Core Partner Award from telecom equipment maker Huawei Technologies Co Ltd of Shenzhen, China at the Huawei 2009 Core Partner Convention. Oclaro was the only supplier in the Optical category to receive the award.

Oclaro says that the award represents its fifth significant vendor recognition from Huawei in recent years, reflecting its consistent delivery of high-performance, high-reliability products and the quality of its customer service.

“As one of the industry’s top vendors with global sales to the world’s largest carriers, Huawei is a very important and strategic customer,” said Oclaro’s CEO Alain Couder. “Customers need reliable suppliers who can consistently deliver quality products with short lead times and add real value with local sales support; we achieve this through the combination of our ownership of core technologies and manufacturing facilities,” he claims. The firm says that it is also working to partner with customers on new product designs, technical support, quality assurance and development planning.
