LED chip, lamp and lighting fixture maker Cree Inc of Durham, NC, USA has signed an agreement with LED do Brasil Comercio de Produtos Eletronicos Ltda to promote the sale of Cree’s LED components in Brazil. The country is the 10th largest energy consumer in the world and the third largest in the western hemisphere, behind the USA and Canada.
“We see great potential for LED lighting in Brazil,” says Paulo Taminato, commercial manager for LED do Brasil Comercio de Produtos Eletronicos Ltda. “Later in December, we are holding a seminar about designing with Cree LEDs and the response has been overwhelming. I believe we can help reduce our country’s energy consumption for lighting with the deployment of energy-efficient LEDs,” he adds.
“LED do Brasil will represent our LED components, from high-brightness to lighting-class XLamp LEDs,” says Cree sales director Vince Feorenzo.
