On the basis of preliminary financial results, fiber-optic communications component and subsystem maker Finisar Corporation of Sunnyvale, CA, USA says it expects to report revenues of approximately $134m (including revenues of around $7m from discontinued operations) for Q1/2009 (ended 2 August), representing a sequential increase of about 15%. Guidance for the quarter was $120 to $130m.
Optics revenues are expected to be approximately $127m, an increase of 18% sequentially, and up 10% on Q1/2008.
The firm noted that product revenues for 10Gb/s applications and ROADMs were particularly strong.
