Mimix launches 17-34GHz up-converter

Mimix Broadband Inc of Houston, TX, USA has made available engineering samples of a 17-34GHz GaAs pHEMT SMT-packaged up-converter, the XU1010-QH. Suited for point-to-point radio, LMDS, SatCom and VSAT applications, the up-converter integrates a linear, balanced resistive pHEMT mixer, LO buffer amplifier and LO doubler within a fully molded 4mm x 4mm QFN package.

The XU1010-QH has an input third-order intercept point (IIP3) of +23dBm, a conversion loss of 10dB, an LO drive level of +2dBm, and includes on-chip ESD protection structures and DC by-pass capacitors.

“The XU1010-QH provides impressive broadband performance with high linearity and high LO suppression at the RF port, a combination that reduces the gain and linearity requirements for the RF transmit chain,” says product manager Paul Beasly. “The device combines the advantages of an integrated solution and a standard fully molded QFN package, allowing the user to reduce their board area, bill-of-materials count and time to market using standard SMT board technology,” he adds.
